Interview the Male Winner of Changing Lives Contest

At 50 years old Mr Khau Van Si had high blood pressure, was overweight and lacked energy. To ensure that he could meet his life expectations he made the commitment and got fit.

*What made you (or motivated you) start training at California WOW Xperience? I want to lose weight. I like the environment in CWX with exciting music, professional trainer and many new friends

*Looking back to the time before you started training how was your life back then? I was really fat; you won’t be able to see my neck. I had high-blood pressure and over –weight issues.

*Before you started training at CWX what were your hobbies? I used to drink a lot and love fried food. I did not exercise.

*What is your commitment to training? Is being fit and healthy a lifestyle for you? My ultimate goal is to lose weight, to have a better yet healthier life style, to be more vitality, full of enegy and live my life at the fullest. I want to be healthy in my body and my mind to be able to live better, work better. As a lawyer, I used to put off my health and try to help my clients however, however, I recognized that in order to be able to help my clients, I got to be in good health and sharp mind first. So the more time I spend for exercising and change my diet, the better I am physically and mentally and my work soars, so does my personal life.

*Did you encounter any mental difficulties when you 1st started training? First time was a hard time I admit. Especially with my big belly, I faced difficulties doing the work out. Also, the high blood pressure makes me suffer when my body starts to work out. Another challenge is finding time. I got to tell myself to schedule for the work out, my health become a VIP client in my working schedule. It is not easy to keep up with your working routine but I made it finally. I am glad I took action to change.

*What physical and physiological transformations have you gone through since you started training, and what are the rewards that you are experiencing now as the result of training? I achieve my utmost fitness goal: losing 13 kgs in 5 months. My friends look at me and ask me why do I look like a new person. It can barely fit into my old clothes. My health had significant improvement; the high blood pressure now becomes normal. Mentally, I feel a great change; I do not feel stressful and feel addicted to my work out time. I feel so good when working out.

*How has your Personal Trainer helped you achieve your fitness goals and stay motivated? He is amazing! Richard has a great plan to keep me motivated. He helps me to achieve my goals in a short amount of time.

*What are your future goals/plans? I will not stop working out with my PT. My next goal is reducing my weight to 63 kg and gain more muscle. I will buy a brand new wardrobe by then. I am confident that I will achieve this goal. What has worked for you?

*What are the life changing results? The best thing I learn from this is that your nutrition is vital to your body and health. Eating right is the key to change your life to a better. I do not believe in diet, neither eating too much or not eating enought food is healthy. I learn to control my calories intake and stay healthy all the time without scarifying my favourite dishes. I love food and feel comfortable taking all the dishes, but now I do know how much food is enough for my body. My life changes thanks to exercises, I am in the best health condition ever. With this body, this mind, this health, I am indeed happier and more successful.

Any words of wisdom for those lose motivation to stick to a dream and always find excuses not to exercise? Do not find excuses for not starting from now. Skipping exercises is a pathway to illness. You sell your time for drinking, making money but without a good health, a healthy mind, how will you find time to enjoy your life? For any of us, our life is the most precious thing we have and do not take it for granted since we only have one life to live.

Being the Male winner of the 90 days Fitness Challenge - the Changing Lives Contest, Mr. Si won a prize valued $1,500.
